"Death & Life"
Why do awful things happen??? this is a question I can not answer.
No matter how hard I try!
On the 19th my friend Matt (16) was playing with his two friends, Jason(14) and Cory(11).
They were playing "cops and robbers" with matt's dad's "unloaded" gun.
Matt decided to take a nap before work and told the boys to go home, but they came back
a little later and cory decided to scare Matt by sticking the gun up to his head
and clicking it. But the gun didn't click, instead it went BOOM and Matt was shot in the
head. Matt died early Friday the 20th.
I am awed at how one moment of not thinking can ruin so may lives.
Cory is now in a mental institution and facing homicide charges.
Jason will probably never recover from this.
The Jason that I knew is no more; He does not smile, he barely can speak.
He will never be the same.
I was giving Jason a hug when he let off the most horrible scream that I have ever
in my life. He ran out of the room holding his ear, screaming so loud.
He says he can still hear the gun shot.
This has touched me so very deeply, as it has many people!
I just want to wrap my arms around everyone and make it all go away!!
And Matt's family has lost one of the people that they loved most!
Over 350 people came to Matt's funeral.
And it has shown me one person can touch so many others lives.
We never know when we are going to die. We always think we are invincible.
That no one can touch us. That death is for the "old".
But no matter how much we think that it is true, it is not. Sometimes the good die
young. It's sad, but so true.
We have to do our best to make our lives extraordinary! Live every moment as it is
your last. I know many people say that, and I even get so tired of people
saying it. But Oh how I have found it to be true!
remember One moment's stupidity, can mean a Life time of pain
Valerie
WE MISS YOU MATT
